In some exciting news, I am getting the opportunity to work on a project I have wanted to do since my second year of my doctoral studies: a document collection on the Communist International and the National, Colonial and Racial Questions.
This collection would aim to be a comprehensive collection of the key documents of the Comintern and the National, Colonial, and Racial Questions. It would include the major theses developed in the Comintern, including those produced at each of its Congresses, important discussions or resolutions passed at its plenums, but also significant documents from national communist parties and from front organizations developed or supported by the Comintern, creating a starting point for further comparative analysis of different approaches and interpretations that stem from the Comintern’s statements, resolutions and decisions.
At the moment, the scope of the project will be determined by a number of factors. But in these early stages of project organization, I am looking for some help from Comintern specialists. I am compiling an exhaustive list of potential documents to include from the Comintern itself, but also specific communist parties and affiliated organizations, in order to determine how to best move forward. I have a growing list of documents I feel should be included, based on my own research on these topics and on South African, Canadian and Australian communism. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to respond either via a comment below, via social media or via the contact section on this site.
